Evangelistic
Campaign
During the month of March we held an Evangelistic Campaign in the soccer
stadium of Ciudad Vieja (The Old City).
There was a lot of preparation the week previous with the handing out of
flyers and announcements on the local radio station, and also in the 31 cell
groups fasting and praying for the meeting. On the night prior to the meeting each of
our thirty one cell groups held their own individual invite evening and was
encouraged to bring along as many non-Christians as possible. On the day I shared the Gospel there were
about 600 people, and it was with great joy to see a total of 18 receive Christ
as their Lord and Savior, and some come back to Christ. We also prayed and saw miracles and
healings. Below are some of the pictures.
Christa’s
Birthday
Just before the campaign we went to
lunch to celebrate Christa’s Birthday.
We went to our favorite restaurant called Ni-Fu Ni-Fa, and after the
main meal some of the waiters came and sang happy birthday to Christa. They even stuck one lit candle in a piece of
cake!
Health
Both Christa and I have recently
been suffering with health problems.
Twenty years on the mission field does take its toll, even though we do
get away now and again for some rest.
Please keep us daily in your prayers.
Appeal
for Help
Last year Carlos, who earned his
living transporting good with his vehicle was stabbed and killed. He left behind a young wife, Betty, and a one and a half year old son, Anderson. Fortunately Betty has a job which she can
take care of herself and her son. But
they live in a one-room house and need to build a wall to separate them from
their neighbor. They also need to put a
new corrugated roof up as the old one has seen better days and is leaking
badly. (The rainy season starts in 2
months time). The cost which is 400 pounds sterling ($665) of doing this repair
far exceeds their little income. Please
help this family! Donations can be sent

A second emergency appeal is for Hugo, a father with 6 children, a cell group leader and
one of the three worship leaders in our church.
He has the opportunity of purchasing a second-hand motorbike, which will
help him tremendously to get to work and back. The bike is expected to cost him about 450
pounds sterling ($750). Please help
